Welcome to the 2013 edition of the Historical Fiction Reading Challenge! We are very excited that so many of you have signed up for the challenge this year, including quite a few people who are participating in their first challenge ever! As of when I am writing this post, there are more than 130 signed up which means that over the coming year there are going to be a lot of great historical fiction discovered and shared with fellow HF lovers!
If you haven't already signed up, it's not too late! The sign up post is here.
Just to recap what participants need to know. At the beginning of each month we will put up a post which will have a Mr Linky embedded into it for you to add your link.
Please remember...
- add the link(s) of your review(s) including your name and book title to the Mister Linky we’ll be adding to our monthly post (please, do not add your blog link, but the correct address that will guide us directly to your review). A direct link to your Goodreads review is also acceptable
- any kind of historical fiction is accepted (fantasy, young adult, graphic novels...)
- if you have time, have a look some of the other links that are present. You never know when you will discover new blogs or books!
I hope that you all enjoy your participation in the 2013 Historical Fiction Reading Challenge.
Hi - I read this book in Dec. 2012, but did not post my review until today. Since it is historical fiction, I thought I would add it.

ReplyDeletePosted my second book of the Challenge, reviewed and linked! Nemesis by Lindsey Davis.
ReplyDeleteI just finished my first two books of the year... and they were LONG! The first is over 800 pages & the second is almost 600. Guess I cheated a bit as I was almost half way down with the 1st on January 1st. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is my second post for this month: Lady Lady of Rivers by Philippa Gregory.
ReplyDeleteA straight historical fiction (The Candlemass Road), a historical mystery (I Am Half-Sick of Shadows), and a historical fantasy (The Night Circus) to start off the new year!

ReplyDeleteJust added a review of D.L Bodgan's The Forgotten Queen.
ReplyDeleteAdding my second review for Wendy Vella's The Reluctant Countess.
ReplyDeleteConsidering that a huge amount of books I read count as Historical Fiction, I should probably upgrade my goal to Ancient History. I'm already a third of the way through the goal for Medieval. ;)
ReplyDeleteI started to add my books and reviews for this month, but there are just too many so I just added a link to the page where I updated my goal on the books read and reviewed. This is so fun and I'm so pleased with the start I have on this challenge.
ReplyDeleteAdded a review of My Name is Red by Orhan Pamuk
ReplyDeleteAdded my review for Lady of the River by Philippa Gregory!
ReplyDelete"The Scarlet Pimpernel" by Baroness Orczy is my first read of the year.
