Thursday Threads - What HF would you like to be in?

Now, we all love Historical Fiction, that is why we are here....right?, so of all the wonderful books and characters, which book have you enjoyed so much that you wish you could get between the covers of that book?

Even though I set the question, I could not come up with a definitive answer! I am tempted by the first in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaladon or the Winding Quilts by Jennifer Chiaverini.

What about you?

  3. That's a pretty hard question, but I think I'd have to pick Wolf Hall. I've become totally fascinated by Thomas Cromwell since reading the book. Alternatively, I'd also love to find myself in the pages of one of Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin novels since I love the period in history in which the novels are set.

    1. It was a tricky question - not to self select an easier one next week!

Isn't that the whole point and wonder of reading a great book, is that it inspires you to read and investigate more about the periods of history or the information we read about.

  5. Off the top of my head it would have to be The Bungalow by Sarah Jio (if that counts as HF). I don't know why exactly. A hot sticky island during WWII isn't my thing. But the way she wrote about the bungalow and the beach and the characters.... I just wanted to know them.
