Introduction: Julie

Hello everyone,

My name is Julie Goucher and I am delighted to have been invited by Marg, Kelly and Ana to contribute to Historical Tapestry.

A little about me. For the last 15 years I have lived in the south west of England, although I am a Surrey girl. I live with my husband and a rather cute Border Terrier called Alfie who makes up for his small size with personality. I work within the pharmacy management sector, have a background in pharmaceutical training and a degree in history.

I can't recall my first book, but I do still have my first set of books. A lovely set of Noddy books by Enid Blyton, many still with the price tickets on! Since those early days I have always read and enjoy reading various genres. I especially love historical fiction, biographical & memoir type books as well as those that cover the period from 1900 to the 1950s. I am half Italian and have a specific interest in migration from Italy and Sicily to the British Isles post Second World War, so books that cover period are always of Interest.

Apart from reading, I love all things history and have been researching my ancestry since the late 1980s.

I look forward to sharing my reading adventures with you all.

Best wishes
Julie
