The Guardian has posted a list of The 10 Best Historical Novels. You can check out the list here. The comments are a lot of fun, too. I browsed through some of them before making up this post.
What are your thoughts on the list?
I originally heard about this on Books on the Nightstand where they discuss that age old question: What makes a novel historical. You can listen to the podcast here.
What do you think makes a novel historical?
Couple of books I would like to get my hands on. Thank you for the link.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. 1 out of 10. I wonder what the Cleo or Woman's Day equivalent would brand me. A wanna be literary?
ReplyDeleteInteresting list. My list would be very different.
ReplyDelete(never finished WOlf Hall)
I read none of these books and know only two by author and title.
ReplyDeleteTolstoy definately belongs on the list. Most of the others I haven't read. . . Yet. I respect the Guardian enough to want to read them.
