Farewell, My Queen (Les Adieux à la Reine) - Trailer

(The trailer is in French, I couldn't find an English version)

in 1789, at the eve of the Revolution: Versailles occupants still live happily, unconcerned by the increasing turmoil in Paris. When news about the storming of the Bastille reaches the Court, aristocrats and servants desert the Palace, leaving the Royal Family alone in its suite. But Sidonie Laborde, a young Queen's reader, refuses to flee. She feels secure as she is under protection of the Queen of France. She does not yet know these are the last three days she would spend by her side.

I've been waiting for this movie for a very long time. At first, Eva Green was cast as Marie-Antoinette, for my greatest joy. After a while, I read somewhere that it was finally Diane Krüger who landed the role of the tragic French queen. I was a tad confused but not at all displeased with this change since Diane seems to physically suit the role better (even if Eva is magnificent and incredibly talented). For what I've been reading and watching, the reviews are not spectacular, but my curiosity didn't diminished. I'm always ready for an historical movie ! What about you ? :)

The movie was adapted from Chantal Thomas' book Les Adieux à la Reine, but you can find the English translation easily.

  1. I have heard of the book but didn't know they were making a movie. I too am always up for a historical film - even if it ends up falling flat. Hopefully at least it looks beautiful on the screen.

  3. I believe everything posted was actually very
reasonable. But, what about this? suppose you were to create a killer headline?

I ain't suggesting your information isn't good, however suppose you added a title
that grabbed folk's attention? I mean "Farewell, My Queen (Les Adieux la Reine) - Trailer" is kinda plain. You could glance at Yahoo's home
page and note how they create news headlines to grab viewers to click.
You might add a video or a picture or two to grab people excited about what you've got to say. Just my opinion, it could bring your posts a little livelier.
