I'm a fan of most eras of English history, but most especially the entire Plantagenet era. I've been reading a lot of novels set just prior to and during WWI and that is quickly becoming a favourite era of mine.
For some reason I'm fascinated by the Middle Ages - the plague and lots of mud! Willis' Doomsday Book and Avi's Crispin series come to mind. But I like it all!
That's a difficult one. Generally I say that my favorite time frame is European 11th through 17th centuries. I guess if I had to narrow it down I would answer 1450 - 1550 give or take
My own favourite is the World Wars. I became hooked on this time period when I investigated my grandfather's war service and from there I've written three novels set in WWI and WWII. What intrigues me is how recent they are .. what I call distant and yet tangible since so many of us have known relatives who lived through it all.
My favourite is 17th and 18 th c taking place in France. I also love 16thc Italian history. I love European historical fiction and want to read more about Russia. Lately though I've also been enjoying ancient history taking place in Rome (love Kate Quinn's novels!).
Ooh this is a hard one, but my go to time period is by far the Wars of the Roses.

ReplyDeleteThere are several different time periods I love, but my absolute favorite is the Napoleonic Wars/Regency era.
