HT News

Alyce from At Home with Books is clearing her bookshelf and there are a choice of four books available, one of which may be of interest to historical fiction readers.

The Outlander series of books is one that I constantly pimp to my friends, to people I meet on the train, anyone I talk about books to really. Now you have a chance to win 10 copies of Outlander to give to your friends. This giveaway is being run to help celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publishing of the original Outlander book. Also, if you own a Kindle, you can get a free copy here.

Allie from Hist-Fic Chick and Nicole from Linus's Blanket have teamed up to co-host Harrowing Historicals, a month long event celebrating all those gruesome events in history that are portrayed in the books we read. There are prizes up for grabs. For all the details check out the posts from Allie and Nicole.

  1. Although I was already a disciple...hooked on historical fiction by the works of James Michener, Leon Uris, and John Jakes, it was Diana Gabaldon and the Outlander series of books that compelled me to write in the genre, and in doing so found success. I owe Ms. Gabaldon a debt of gratitude. Her use of multi-layered, empathetic fictional characters as the conduit for the tale of the turbulent age, earns these books a permanent place upon my bookshelves, to be read again and again.
