Historical Fiction Reading Challenge March Reviews

Whoops! I am falling down on the job! Completely forgot to post this on 1 March! My apologies for being a couple of days late!

Once again we had another great month in the challenge with 130 reviews linked up! Wow! What a start to the year for the Historical Fiction Reading Challenge! There are now more than 280 reviews linked to the challenge during January and February! I wonder if we can maintain that kind of number each month for the rest of the year? It's a tall ask, but it would be awesome if we could!

Just to recap what participants need to know. At the beginning of each month we will put up a post which will have a Mr Linky embedded into it for you to add your link.

Please remember...

Wow! What a start to the year for the Historical Fiction Reading Challenge! There were more than 150 reviews linked to the challenge during January alone! Welcome to the 2013 edition of the Historical Fiction Reading Challenge! We are very excited that so many of you have signed up for the challenge this year, including quite a few people who are participating in their first challenge ever! As of when I am writing this post, there are more than 130 signed up which means that over the coming year there are going to be a lot of great historical fiction discovered and shared with fellow HF lovers!

Historical Fiction Reading Challenge December reviews

And so we come to the last month for the Historical Fiction Reading Challenge 2012, but don't despair! We recently announced the 2013 challenge and there are already a whole heap of people signed up! Alex has made us another gorgeous button and we have renamed the categories but other than that the challenge will remain pretty much the same as this year. You can find all the details at the sign up post!

We had another great month in November with another 69  reviews addecd to the list That make our total books read 938 books in 2012 and I think that we will quite possibly reach more than 1000 reviews for the year! That's a lot of reviews!

2013 Historical Fiction Reading Challenge

We are excited to announce that the we will again be hosting the Historical Fiction Reading Challenge in 2013, and we hope that you are all excited at the prospect of joining in.

The challenge will run in the same way as it has over the last couple of years that we have hosted the challenge. The only thing that has changed is the names of the categories.

Here are the details:

Each month, a new post dedicated to the HF Challenge will be created. To participate, you only have to follow the rules:

• everyone can participate, even those who don't have a blog (you can add your book title and thoughts in the comment section if you wish)
• add the link(s) of your review(s) including your name and book title to the Mister Linky we’ll be adding to our monthly post (please, do not add your blog link, but the correct address that will guide us directly to your review)
• any kind of historical fiction is accepted (HF fantasy, HF young adult,...)

During these following 12 months you can choose one of the different reading levels:

20th century reader - 2 books
Victorian reader - 5 books
Renaissance Reader - 10 books
Medieval - 15 books
Ancient History -25+ books

You can tailor the challenge to suit you in whichever way you like! For example, I know of one participant who over the last couple of years has only read historical mysteries as it suits their own reading tastes!

To join the challenge you only need to make a post about it, grab the button below if you like and leave your link in Mr Linky below or just leave a link to your blog if you are not yet ready to post about it yet. If you don't have a blog you can just leave a comment for this post saying that you are joining.

The challenge runs from 1 January to 31 December 2013.

The Historical Fiction Reading Challenge - September Reviews

The Historical Fiction Challenge 2011- Wrap Up

In December, we collectively read 60 books! That makes our grand total for 2011, 902 books!!  Wow, that`s 902 books read and reviewed!

After 3 years organizing the Historical Fiction Challenge, the girls of The Royal Reviews gracefully passed over this exciting event to our team at Historical Tapestry last year and we are very excited that the challenge is going to be returning in 2012!  During 2011 there were hundreds of books read by the participants and we hope that we continue to create a wonderful place to share and discuss our favourite (and maybe not quite so favourite) historical fiction books for the next year.

Each month, a new post dedicated to the HF Challenge will be created. To participate, you only have to follow the rules:

• everyone can participate, even those who don't have a blog (you can add your book title and thoughts in the comment section if you wish)

• add the link(s) of your review(s) including your name and book title to the Mister Linky we’ll be adding to our monthly post (please, do not add your blog link, but the correct address that will guide us directly to your review)

• any kind of historical fiction is accepted (HF fantasy, HF young adult,...)

• During these following 12 months you can choose one of the different reading levels:

1. Severe Bookaholism: 20 books
2. Undoubtedly Obsessed: 15 books
3. Struggling the Addiction: 10 books
4. Daring & Curious: 5 books
5. Out of My Comfort Zone: 2 books
