I have STEALING ATHENA on my shelf (well, in a box somewhere actually since I just moved and have not yet ordered my new bookcases from Ikea) and I know that one takes this type of format. And hm, they both deal with statues/art/architecture!<br /><br />I, too, was expecting more from THE BIRTH OF VENUS (perhaps the stunning NYT reviews had something to do with it?!) but found I really did not enjoy it very much. I don't think it's the art aspect of the book that didn't work for me, since I've read other art HF that I've loved!
